As the children of Israel left behind Egypt and all that it entailed (food, culture, bondage, idolatry), they were to rely on the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob to be their compass, provider, and protection.  They murmured and complained as their clothes never grew old, they were protected and provided for.  God gave them food from heaven.  Something they had never seen.  It tasted as sweet as honey.  The stipulation was to depend and trust God to provide daily.  They were not to hoard and keep any but believe what they had never seen before or knew what to call it would descend from heaven each day.

Jesus our bread of heaven is our sufficiency.  When he was born and revealed his ministry many asked who he is.  He fed multitudes physical and spiritual food yet it wasn't enough.  

We are called to trust God with our very lives and believe that each day he will show up, he will provide, he will feed us and give us water and be our strength and sufficiency.
